The beginning of 2026 has brought a fresh sense of momentum to our studio. As we move further into the first quarter, BWA is excited to introduce you to our three new team members who have joined us to bolster our design and delivery capabilities.
Senior Insight: Jade Dafel
We’ve been privileged to invite Jade to the team as a senior architectural lead. With over 16 years of experience across high-end residential and large-scale commercial developments (and having successfully run his own practice for five years), Jade brings an incredible depth of technical rigour and leadership to the studio. His eye for integrating architecture into the natural landscape and his mastery of light and vistas are already proving invaluable as we move several projects into their next phases.
The Next Generation: Angelo Bender and Naadirah Adam
Joining our internship program are two exceptional graduates who represent the thoughtful, socially-engaged future of our profession.
Angelo joins our graduate programme with a Master’s background that explores the intersection of architecture, public life, and urban subcultures. His research into how movement, engagement, and spatial justice define the city provides a fresh, analytical lens through which we view our urban developments.
Our fresh intern, Naadirah, is a standout UCT graduate, bringing a refined portfolio focused on people-centred architecture. Her dedication to creating spaces that offer dignity and grace to their inhabitants aligns perfectly with our ethos of producing fundamentally human architecture.
Looking Ahead
While our focus remains on the meticulous execution of our current projects, this growth in our team naturally expands our studio’s bandwidth.
With Jade’s senior oversight and the energetic contributions of our new graduates, we are well-positioned to navigate the new opportunities and challenges of 2026. Our expanded team provides us with the collective intelligence and creative capacity to jump into the next chapter of BWA.
We look forward to introducing our clients and partners to the team, either on-site or in the studio, soon.
